Joseph Mulupi
Team Lead

Joseph is a highly accomplished consultant and development researcher with over 20 years of expertise in Business Development Services (BDS), project management, enterprise development, and market systems development (MSD). His skill set spans value chain analysis, entrepreneurship, youth employment, financial inclusion, digital economies, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks. He is also proficient in planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (PMEL) and excels in designing and delivering impactful training programs tailored to enhance business capabilities.

Throughout his career, Joseph has delivered consultancy and research services to governments, private sector entities, and development partners, focusing extensively on enhancing BDS capabilities. Notable clients include the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI) under the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade Centre (ITC), ILO, IFAD, IFC, UNDP, Practical Action, Africa Agribusiness Academy, AGRA, SME Support Centre, and Deloitte Consulting.

Beatrice Wanjegu
Head of Programs, Regio Trade

Beatrice brings over 15 years of extensive experience in research and consultancy, with expertise in project management, monitoring and evaluation, gender equality and women’s empowerment, social and financial inclusion, and business sustainability. She has a proven track record in small business development and management, complemented by practical experience as a business owner. Beatrice has provided advisory services on business development to various organizations, focusing on small business financing, market analysis, and market research.

Beatrice is highly skilled in conducting mixed-method research (qualitative and quantitative), including observation and mini-ethnographies. She is proficient in data analysis tools such as Stata, R, NVivo, and Dedoose. Over the years, she has worked with governments, donor organizations, and private-sector entities, including the Government of Kenya, ILO, IRC, World Bank, EU, Danida, FCDO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, UN agencies, NGOs, and private firms.

Paul Jaoko
Associate Director  

Paul Jaoko is a results-oriented Development Research Specialist with over 16 years of extensive experience in research, evaluations, and capacity building across sub-Saharan Africa and the Horn of Africa. His expertise lies in Business Development Services (BDS), with a focus on empowering women, youth, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Paul’s work spans diverse sectors, including Women Empowerment, Agriculture, Livelihoods, WASH, and Social and Enterprise Development, where he has driven impactful, sustainable solutions tailored to the unique needs of various stakeholders.

Paul has consulted with prominent organizations such as the Africa Guarantee Fund (AGF), GIZ, ILO, AGRA, PSI Kenya, the World Bank, Solidaridad East and Central Africa, and Heifer International.
